WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
The Qualsafe First Response Emergency Care (FREC Level 3 RQF) provides comprehensive training, going beyond standard first aid to meet and exceed the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements.
Across five intensive days, you’ll gain the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to respond to a variety of prehospital emergency care situations. This course is ideal for those aiming to work or volunteer as a first responder at events, in the workplace, and other similar settings.
It’s also tailored for individuals working in high-risk or remote environments, or first responder roles. These may include Community First Responders (CFRs), offshore and overseas workers, journalists, film and TV crews, Police and Fire Service personnel, cabin crews, aid workers, and expedition leaders.
Taught by experienced paramedics from diverse professional backgrounds, this qualification equips you with essential lifesaving skills.

- CPR & AED use for adults, children, and infants
- ROSC procedures
- Administering emergency oxygen

- Handling poisoning and intoxication cases
- Internal and external bleeding control
- Helmet removal techniques
- Immobilisation procedures
- Treating environmental exposure injuries
- Managing burns, scalds, and minor injuries
- Proper incident reporting

Assessments
- 6 x practical assessments/skills tests
- 3 x theory assessments (multiple choice question papers)
- 1 x invigilated exam.
Certification
Successful learners will receive a personalised Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) e-Certificate immediately after their results have been submitted, subject to a Centre’s Direct Claims Status and any required actions.
